The Haryana government on 05th Apr 2016  revised the legal minimum wage in the state Earlier it was declared in the Month  of Nov-2015  effective date was from 25th Sep-2015 & now the effective date is from 1st Jan 2016

Time to go viral and get the EPF withdrawal rules rolled back permanently

4 Apr 2016 — No news on permanent roll back of withdrawal rules after the CBT meeting held on Mar 29, 2016 during which one of the trustees questioned the merits of the new rules.

Unfortunately, it looks the recent temporary hold is to make necessary changes in the EPFO systems for implementing these rules and is not the outcome of discussions during the CBT meeting. The garment industry workers in Tamil nadu are on strike demanding withdrawal of these rules. While this is a good starting point, we need to create more pressure on EPFO and Govt. to roll back these rules permanently at the earliest.

Honestly, so far, we could not create any pressure on EPFO through this petition. So friends, let us use all possible means to spread this to media and opposition parties to bring pressure on EPFO and Govt. to roll back the withdrawal rules.

Centre to bring uniformity in wages across India: Dattatraya

Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya informed that the Central Government was proposing to bring uniformity in wages of labourers across the country.
Addressing a press conference at Provident Fund office at Barkatpura here on Saturday, Dattatraya said that the minimum wages for labourers were different in all States. Therefore, by raising the minimum wages, the Centre proposes to make them uniform across the country. He said that the Central Government was taking several steps for the welfare of labourers.
Dattatraya said that the NDA Government has brought transparency in the functioning of Employees’ Provident Fund while the process to withdraw PF amount has been simplified.
The Union Minister informed that 85.17 lakh workers are employed by 39,864 industries across Telangana State. He said nearly 36 lakh employees have PG accounts. He said that the Centre would make it compulsory for all units with 10 employees to register for Provident Fund and a new legislation would be soon introduced in this regard.
Dattatraya said that the children of Beedi workers were not getting scholarships for the last four years. He said that the Centre has recently released Rs. 10.43 crore to provide scholarships to 1.30 lakh students
