Governor of Manipur has promulgated an ordinance on The Manipur Shops And Establishments (Regulation Of Employment And Conditions Of Service) Ordinance, 2021. As per the ordinance,
- It shall apply to all shops and establishments employing ten or more workers
- It shall come in to force at once
- Chief Faciliator appointed under Sub-section (1) of section 17
- Offence and Penalties has been increased ( Whoever contravenes the provisions of this Ordinance or the rules made thereunder shall be punishable with fine which may extend to two lakh rupees and in the case of a continuing contravention, with an additional fine which may extend to two thousand rupees for every day during which such contravention continues Provided that the total amount of fine shall not exceed two thousand rupees per worker employed.
