Tamil Nadu Government issued a draft of the revised minimum rate of wages for various categories of industries
The Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department, Tamil Nadu on August 16, 2021, issued the draft of the revised minimum rate of wages for employment in various categories of industries
Any objection and suggestion for the draft notification will be taken into consideration on or after the expiry of two months from August 16, 2021, which should be addressed to the secretary to the government, Labour welfare and skill development department, secretariat, Chennai – 600009 through the commissioner of Labour Chennai.

Measures for functionalization of Covid vaccination site at ESIC, ESIS hospitals, dispensaries, and Special camps for ESI beneficiaries
Pls refer to the earlier circular dated 30.06.2021 in this context, it is further informed that a DO letter dated 14th August 2021 (Copy enclosed) has been issued by Secretary, Health, Govt. of India, Shri Rajesh Bhushan requesting Chief Secretaries/Administrators of all States/UTs to direct the concerned officials to coordinate with ESIC Regional Offices and Sub-regional offices and include all ESIC/ESIS Hospitals & Dispensaries in Covid-19 vaccination program.
Further, it has also been requested to organize a workplace Covid Vaccination Centre so as to strengthen the reach of Covid Vaccination services to the country’s labour workforce which will help to accelerate the coverage of unvaccinated ESI beneficiaries.
Ministry of Labour and Employment appoints the enforcement date of the ESIC Act 1948 in all the areas of Mayiladuthurai, Vellore, and Ariyalur districts in the State of Tamil Nadu.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment on August 31, 2021 has issued the enforcement date of various Sections of the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 shall come into force on September 01, 2021.
The following Sections are namely:
• Chapter IV (except sections 44 and 45 which have already been brought into force)
• Chapters V and VI (except sub-section (1) of section 76 and sections 77, 78, 79 and 81
It shall come into force in all the areas of Mayiladuthurai, Vellore, and Ariyalur districts in the State of Tamil Nadu.

At times, the name and date of birth in the provident fund (PF) statement is not correct and does not match with what is there in your Aadhaar details The ultimate objective behind this is to ensure that funds are made available in a timely manner Hence it is important to ensure that every EPF / EPS member has provided correct information of his/her details to enable settlement of funds in a seamless manner. –Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) allows subscribers to Modify the details of their Provident Fund (PF) accounts online via its official portal- unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in. This can then result in unnecessary delays and hassles when you try to withdraw the money at the time of retirement
Requirements to Change Name or date of birth
- You should have the UAN
2. The UAN should be activated
3. You can access the unified member portal
4. You must have the Aadhaar.
Valid documents eligible for change/update date of birth in EPF UAN
- Birth Certificate issued by Registrar of Births and Deaths.
2. Any School/Education related certificate.
3. Certificate-based on the service records of the Central/State Government Organizations.
4. Any other reliable documents issued by government departments.
5. In the absence of proof of birth as above, a Medical Certificate was issued by Civil Surgeon after examining the member medically and supported with an affidavit on oath by the member duly authenticated by a Competent Court.
6.Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar-The change of date of birth shall be accepted as per Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar up to the maximum range of plus or minus of THREE YEARS of the date of birth recorded earlier with EPFO. (Earlier it was just one year. However, superseding all earlier notifications, EPFO released a new notification on 3rd April 2020 and extended the period to 3 years).
Phased Programme for Implementation of ESI Scheme for the year 2021-22 target date 31st Mar 2022
Kindly refer to Letter No.X-11/14/03/2017-P&D dated 14.10.2020 on the above-cited subject wherein the district-wise Phased Programme of Implementation for the year 2020-21 was conveyed as per Vision – 2022. The targets for 2020-21 could not be achieved due to the non-completion of medical arrangements during the COVID pandemic. Now, a new consolidated target for 2021-22 is enclosed which includes the pending districts not notified during the year 2020-21 in the target of notification.
It is also to inform you that the Code on Social security, 2020 (Act 36 of 2020) has been notified. The effective date of implementation is also expected to be notified shortly. The code subsumes the ESI Act, 1948 along with eight other central enactments in the field of Social Security. Once notified, the entire area of the country shall be implemented for the purposes of the ESI Scheme. Therefore, it is imperative to make medical arrangements in all areas within this financial year itself.
The targets for the year 2021-22 are enclosed as Annexure -A with the request that necessary steps may be taken on priority for implementing the scheme in the districts shown in the Annexure.
In view of the above, the State Govt. is requested to take steps to complete the medical arrangement in the districts for delivery of medical care to the Insured Persons and their family members so as to enable ESIC to take further action for the issue of notification well in time for implementing the Scheme
